- <p> DEATH REVEALED. Shirley Booth, 94, stage, screen, radio and
- TV star; after a brief illness; in North Chatham, Massachusetts.
- Booth's gift for gabby characters peaked on Broadway with her
- appearance as the embattled wife of an alcoholic in Come Back,
- Little Sheba, which won her a Tony. Her screen re-creation of
- the role opposite Burt Lancaster earned an Oscar. But she is
- best known as TV maid Hazel on the show of that name, who
- eagerly interfered with her employers from 1961 to 1966,
- snagging two Emmys along the way.
